CEREC stands for Chair side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.

This means that we can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. The dentist uses a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses computer aided design technology to design the restoration. Then computer aided manufacturing automatically creates the restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process only takes about one hour.

What are the benefits of this type of crown?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver or gold fillings discoloring smiles. CEREC crowns are natural looking, compatible with the tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Impressions are no longer needed to be sent to the lab and patients no longer need to make a second appointment. Crowns can now be achieved in one day, one visit.
